Designing an Audi R8 Website

Before designing any website you must create a SITE MAP. A site map is researching and gathering information about your client, competition etc. You want to research the company’s competition, see what their site contains and what it does not. Gather as much information that relates to the product you are creating: audience, type of function, purpose. Another very important thing is researching in the colour and design layout that a company has. Most have a strict specific theme in their Company’s visual aesthetics.

Look into what a website should have and what what kind of content it should  contain:

  •  Functionality – search bar, video player, twitter, RSS, facebook, news feed, etc.
  •  Copy (information, text
  •  Graphics
  •  Logos
  • Legals
  • Disclaimers
  • Navigation

It’s always good to have a variety of different colour schemes in case your your client or boss is looking something different (2 different versions of a back drop: white or black)

 Few things to take note:

  • inches – print, pixels – website
  • Make duplicates of source images, always keep original
  • Use fill layer to crop images within composition
  • Use rulers and grids set to pixels (gridline: 100, sub-divisions: 10)
  • Keep the design consistent throughout, Keep text boxes identical, justify paragraphs and adjust the tracking on letters to  keep text sections look consistent and remove unwanted hyphens
  • Canvas size used was 1100 x 800
